EMT are very excited to be bringing this classic musical to the King’s Theatre. This New York tale of gamblers, gangsters and nightclub singers features wise-cracking characters and some of Broadway’s most recognisable and show-stopping tunes, including Luck be a Lady, Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat and Sue Me.

Edinburgh Music Theatre Company, or EMT as it is more fondly known, was formed in 1982 and has gone from strength to strength to become one of the best amateur musical theatre companies in the capital.

Managed by a board of Directors we aim to stage musical theatre performances of the highest standard through commitment, dedication, hard work and talent.

Working with professional directors, choreographers and musical directors EMT has produced an incredible array of large scale musicals, as well as concert productions as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Take a look at our previous productions and see for yourself our varied back catalogue.

We hold auditions for each new production and are always delighted to welcome new members into the EMT family. We perform a main stage musical each year in March and perform in August as part of the Edinburgh Fringe. Have a look at our current productions page for details of forthcoming events.
